No. Natalie Portman is still an Israeli-American Ivy League graduate who speaks four (and a bit) languages (including Hebrew and Japanese), occasional guest lecturer at Columbia University in counter-terrorism, micro-finance advocate, and journal-published science writer (and vegan). And Keira Knightley is still . . . well, Keira Knightley.
In slightly related news, we were watching the trailer for the new Natalie Portman film, which I won't say with whom she's in it, though I will tell you the working title of the screenplay (if you're not my mom), and which amazingly looks pretty damned decent.
And Anna said, "How old is Natalie Portman, now, anyway?" and started to reach for IMDB to find out, and but I raced her to it, counting aloud, "Two-thousand-ten, minus 1994 . . . plus 13 . . . she's 29!" I won. And now you should already know how I know:
She is forever Mathilda. (And, kind of amazingly, that trailer still makes me tear up, 16 years later . . .)
