A Cruelty-Free Thanksgiving
Reader Comments (2)

Agreed, a cruelty-free Thanksgiving is the least we can do after all, this day could really be observed as the day we stole the Native American's land, sent them on a death march and enabled their substance abuse.....Of course, there is also the centuries of slave labor helped build our "great" Nation. So by all means, let's be kind to animals, maybe that will help make amends for how humans have treated each other throughout history.

Why does humane treatment of animals have to be pitted against humane treatment of humans? There is not a finite amount of compassion in this universe: the more compassion there is, the more compassion there is.
