Life Like This, In a Tribe

Dr. Huckabloon

Sage wisdom. And I can tell you, as a relatively new parent of a boy that just turned 1 this week, that *having* your own tribe (active verb, not state of being verb) magnifies this effect immensely. Even with all the downsides of being a parent (sleep deprivation, the costs, the inability to do pretty much do anything without a drooling dwarf wanting to take apart and/or destroy whatever it is you're doing ;-)) the effects have been well worth it.

The experience has given me an entirely new outlook on what it means to be alive (as opposed to just "not dead yet") and part of something larger than my own intrinsically selfish self. Pretty amazing stuff... :-)
