Friday Fun Break
Amazing Predator Rap!
Plus Additional Amazing Raps!
"Get to da choppa!"
- obviously

So this is what is widely known on the Interwebs as The Amazing Predator Rap. Maybe you've already seen it, or perhaps not, but in any case for once the hype is fully justified. It's by DJ Mayhem and Mouthmaster Murf – and it is really nothing short of a stunning accomplishment. Consider:

  • In little more than six minutes, they completely and thoroughly synopsize this classic film. I don't know if you've ever tried synopsizing before, but the shit is hard. These guys nail it. In rhyme! You almost don't need to watch the film. You certainly know every damn thing that happens.
  • They work in some huge number of bits of dialogue into the rap – and every one of them both scans and rhymes perfectly. Jeesh! And by this means they get in most of the best lines of the film!
  • The music is all sampled and repurposed from the actual score of the film! It couldn't conceivably fit any better.

And that doesn't even touch on what must have been involved with the video editing. Basically, this is a towering accomplishment. It's also hilarious. Without further adieu:

So, imagine my delight when I found the same guys have done an Amazing Terminator 2 Rap. The production values (and resolution) on this one are rather higher:

And an Amazing Aliens Rap. They've really hit their stride here – this is the best yet:

They also did an Amazing Robocop Rap, but I'm not too bothered about Robocop, so you'll have to dig that up yourself.

Happy Friday.

Fuchs is the author of the novels The Manuscript and Pandora's Sisters, both published worldwide by Macmillan in hardback, paperback and all e-book formats (and in translation); the D-Boys series of high-tech, high-concept, spec-ops military adventure novels – D-Boys, Counter-Assault, and Close Quarters Battle (coming in 2016); and is co-author, with Glynn James, of the bestselling Arisen series of special-operations military ZA novels. The second nicest thing anyone has ever said about his work was: "Fuchs seems to operate on the narrative principle of 'when in doubt put in a firefight'." (Kirkus Reviews, more here.)

Fuchs was born in New York; schooled in Virginia (UVa); and later emigrated to the San Francisco Bay Area, where he lived through the dot-com boom. Subsequently he decamped for an extended period of tramping before finally rocking up in London, where he now makes his home. He does a lot of travel blogging, most recently of some very  long  walks around the British Isles. He's been writing and developing for the web since 1994 and shows no particularly hopeful signs of stopping.
