ARISEN : Operators
Volume I – The Fall of the Third Temple

So just between me, you, and the dead guy on the corner… this is the strongest material I’ve ever produced, the biggest ARISEN adventure yet – and, simply, miraculously, the best book I’ve ever written. (With, by miles, the most psychologically complex character I've ever created – plus probably the most complete and total badass – with the deepest and most satisfying emotional journey.) Strap the frick in.

★★★★★
“I can't praise this author and this series enough. Just when I think it can't get any better, I get my mind blown all over again.”
★★★★★
“Just wow. No author brings more authenticity and knowledge than him. Breakneck speed and real emotion drive this story and this is absolutely his best yet.”
★★★★★
“Just gets better and better… Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I have read the entire series twice. This latest (Operators Vol 1) is a new level.”
★★★★★
“I’m still catching my breath – this was the best Arisen book yet and I don’t say that lightly. I’m going to go further and say this is the best book I’ve read in this genre.”
★★★★★
“The absolute best in the genre. After consuming the original series, I thought I had read the best there was out there. But now, the best has continued. Action that makes John Wick look slow and clumsy. You will find none better (or even close).”
★★★★★
“Outstanding – Fuchs has done it again. Hard, fast and utterly hardcore. Zombie fiction at its best. Do not miss this one.”
★★★★★
“Fantastic story, possibly his best work to date.”
★★★★★
“A completely engrossing read!! A rare gem in that not only does it take you through the expected action of the arisen series, but is a fantastic work of art. A visceral read that reignites the arisen series to a new level.”
★★★★★
“Wow, just wow. With this book Michael Stephen Fuchs engages top gear, shoves the accelerator to the floor and keeps it there. The action piles in on you, wave after wave not letting up. I thought the original Arisen series was outstanding but this takes it up a few notches.”
★★★★★
“OUT OF THE PARK IN ALL RESPECTS – Arisen: Operators demonstrated the author's ability to predict future events at an almost mystical level. Once again MSF writes an action packed pipe hitting story, proving it's his world, we just live in it.”

cover of ARISEN : Operators, Volume I - The Fall of the Third Temple

A girl traumatized by the murder of her tribe.
A battle-worn woman who became the perfect machine for survival, and the deadliest special operator on Earth.
Now with the entire world collapsing around her, and safety – and Alpha Team – 10,000 miles away…

Strap in for the opening salvo of the ARISEN : Operators epic – the biggest and most explosive ARISEN adventure yet, and the untold story of the pipe-hitting operators of the Unified Special Operations Command during the first two years of the Zulu Alpha. But to have any chance of reaching safety in Fortress Britain, Master Sergeant Yaël Sion must first escape the collapsing gravity well of Israel, as it’s devoured from within by merciless jihadi fighters, striking in the chaos of rampaging hordes of infected civilians, all in a global pandemic spiraling out of control. She must then cross a million square miles of open water, surviving one lethal trial after another, embracing and sacrificing allies, all while keeping herself mobile, supplied, and clinging to life. But she will also have to confront and defeat her own demons, learning that solitude is not the only path to survival, and other people are not always a lethal threat… if she is to find a reason for staying alive at all.

The Fall of the Third Temple
THE END STARTS HERE

Available now worldwide in e-book, paperback, and hardcover exclusively from Amazon. (Audible edition, narrated by the immortal and incomparable R.C. Bray, coming, erm, eventually!)

Plus a special bonus (albeit perhaps too-personal) launch week video message from yours truly. (And if I'm looking a little tired here – yeah, I always forget how stressful launch week is. I basically turn myself into a badly overworked marketing flack on behalf of the book, and the publishing operation, for the duration…) 😎

So, ultimately, Ops v1 hit Top 10 in Post-Apocalyptic, Top 10 in War & Military Action, (nearly) Top 5 in War Fiction, and also charted on the Horror and Military Science Fiction lists. It was also a #1 New Release in Post-Apocalyptic in the UK. (And a #1 BESTSELLER in Zombie Horror, one spot ahead of WWZ, in Canada.) None of which is, you know, terrible. 🙂 It's also got a 4.8-★ average for reviews and ratings, with all the reviews being 5-star, not to mention totally lovely and effusive and really happy-making. THANK YOU ALL. 😊🙏🏼🖤

Finally, finally, I try not to spend too much time haunting the reviews (or rankings, or sales, none of which is what you'd call psychologically healthy for an author), but occasionally I need to pop back in and, oops, I just happen to see them. And the incredibly kind, gracious, and insightful things readers have been saying about Ops v1 have warmed my heart, satisfied all my hopes for the book, and made the months of intensive work totally worthwhile. (So much so that I popped some of them in at top.) Thank you so much to everyone who took the time to leave these amazing and brilliant reviews. That you connect with the work so much, and get so much out of it, makes it all seriously worthwhile, and is so humbling and gratifying. 🖤🖤🖤

close photo of Michael Stephen Fuchs

Fuchs is the author of the novels The Manuscript and Pandora's Sisters, both published worldwide by Macmillan in hardback, paperback and all e-book formats (and in translation); the D-Boys series of high-tech, high-concept, spec-ops military adventure novels – D-Boys, Counter-Assault, and Close Quarters Battle (coming in 2016); and is co-author, with Glynn James, of the bestselling Arisen series of special-operations military ZA novels. The second nicest thing anyone has ever said about his work was: "Fuchs seems to operate on the narrative principle of 'when in doubt put in a firefight'." (Kirkus Reviews, more here.)

Fuchs was born in New York; schooled in Virginia (UVa); and later emigrated to the San Francisco Bay Area, where he lived through the dot-com boom. Subsequently he decamped for an extended period of tramping before finally rocking up in London, where he now makes his home. He does a lot of travel blogging, most recently of some very  long  walks around the British Isles. He's been writing and developing for the web since 1994 and shows no particularly hopeful signs of stopping.
