Arisen : Genesis Audiobook

(And, erm, no, I haven't listened to this myself - too scary!)

Update: Okay, I just succumbed to temptation and listened to the sample on Amazon. And it does sound pretty amazing. Very theatrical. This R.C. Bray guy has got something. (*)

Through the magic of code theft, now you can listen to the audio sample on this page! Yip.
That passage is hardly the most literary flourish of the book (he said defensively), but heigh ho! Okay, I've decided that passage is terrible. Here's Chapter One instead! I like it.
And, holy cow, first review on day one! Thanks, AudioBookReviewer.com!

When I was first notified about Arisen: Genesis, by R.C. Bray, I was pretty excited. What could be better than a great narrator performing a new title in your favorite genre? I devoured Arisen: Genesis like there was no tomorrow.

The thrill ride continues from here on out. Even though I have never been in a battle nor in the military Michael Stephen Fuchs was able to bring me into the band of brothers. Making me feel as if I were there experiencing everything happening around me. He was able to create dynamic military men not the simple minded stereotypical grunts. I was able to connect with them on a level that only a really good writer can create.

I was stunned by the performance of R.C Bray. This is a narrator that I really enjoy listening to. Once again Bray shows what he is made of and delivers a spot on performance. Full of high intensity emotional outbursts and action sequences that kept glue in my ears.

Fuchs is the author of the novels The Manuscript and Pandora's Sisters, both published worldwide by Macmillan in hardback, paperback and all e-book formats (and in translation); the D-Boys series of high-tech, high-concept, spec-ops military adventure novels – D-Boys, Counter-Assault, and Close Quarters Battle (coming in 2016); and is co-author, with Glynn James, of the bestselling Arisen series of special-operations military ZA novels. The second nicest thing anyone has ever said about his work was: "Fuchs seems to operate on the narrative principle of 'when in doubt put in a firefight'." (Kirkus Reviews, more here.)

Fuchs was born in New York; schooled in Virginia (UVa); and later emigrated to the San Francisco Bay Area, where he lived through the dot-com boom. Subsequently he decamped for an extended period of tramping before finally rocking up in London, where he now makes his home. He does a lot of travel blogging, most recently of some very  long  walks around the British Isles. He's been writing and developing for the web since 1994 and shows no particularly hopeful signs of stopping.
