Me & Craig Alanson & The Great One (R.C. Bray) Screwing Around Online 🥸
So, slightly inexplicably, my audiobook publisher – the unfailingly lovely people at Podium Audio — asked me to moderate a Livestream launch event between ultra-mega-super-bestselling author Craig Alanson, and the one-and-only, the incomparable and immortal, the Maestro himself, R.C. Bray, audiobook narrator to the Gods. I honestly hadn't the vaguest idea what “moderating” would involve, but they kindly scripted much of it for me in advance, and the three of us are all huge fans of one another, so it really just ended up involving the three of us joshing around delightedly for an hour, talking about writing, publishing, and the life of the jobbing artist.
The nice coda to this is that, afterwards, when everyone involved was thanking everyone else to high heaven, Bob – which is what we cool kids get to call Maestro Bray – asked why we weren't doing these with me and him for ARISEN launches. Everyone involved immediately vowed to do so – most happily and gratefully in my case, as Bob is just absurdly in demand, and his time pretty much priceless – so look for livestreams, with some other schlub moderating, for the launch of the last two ARISEN : Raiders audiobooks, as well as the first volume of ARISEN : Operators early next year.
