General MSF / ARISEN Update!
So, having finally provided a tidbit of news on social media (about R.C. Bray being in the studio to record the Odyssey audiobook), I realised I had been badly out of touch in general, and should really update everyone on what's up. So – here's what's up!
With the launch of ARISEN : Odyssey at the end of last year, and the resolution of every major storyline in the main series, I felt like that was a good place to pause. That does NOT mean the ARISEN-verse is closed out! After taking a break for Christmas, I got back to work in the new year on… an original screenplay. This is an idea I've had for a while and with some interest from Hollywood, and after doing the adaptation myself on an ARISEN teleplay pilot last year… and also with the friendship and mentoring of a Hollywood screenwriter, who is not just an ARISEN fan, but an outstanding human being and friend I finally decided I needed to take a crack at this screenplay. It's a modern special-operations military adventure (but not a zombie one), and a project I'm really excited about.
I was near the home stretch on that, and after sending an 80-page story treatment out to readers, paused on it to bang out: an original ARISEN short story (fast turning into a novella) I've been asked to write for the forthcoming sci-fi/horror/military anthology SNAFU: Last Stand. This is a pretty interesting series, and previous contributors have included such big names as Nicholas Sansbury Smith and Dirk Patton. This is supposed to launch late in the year, and I'll definitely keep you posted on that one.
And then, finally, after all of that… yes, there are two new ARISEN books in the works: ARISEN : Raiders, which will track the MARSOC Marines on the JFK from the Fall until the end of the ZA; and ARISEN : Operators, which will do the same for the Tier-1 guys at Hereford. I'm extremely excited about both of these books, and am looking forward to getting back to all-over-the-top-action/all-the-time business as usual. (And, let's face it, Odyssey was a little bit on the meditative side, especially coming as it did after ENDGAME.) I actually DO have a deadline in mind for writing and launching these two books, and you'd probably like it if you heard it… but, as usual, I don't feel able to announce it until I'm sure I can hit it. But suffice it to say they're coming - and also that I'm enormously grateful to everyone for waiting, just as I'm so happy and grateful for all the awesome support through the years. Thank you.
Oh, last but not least We're #1 (in Post-Apocalyptic Fiction on Audible)!

As always, achieving a great milestone like this is totally down to the readers and listeners, so thank you very much indeed, and much ❤️ to you all.
